This exhilarating weekend launches with a Poker Tournament at Princess Casino where you can play for a chance to win in Sunday’s tournament.
Friday, August 26 – Partake in the traditional poker card game in Princess Casino; the players can play for a chance to win a hand to play the game on August 28.
Saturday, August 27 – There will be a pre-registration Beach Party at Buccaneer Beach Bar.
Sunday, August 28 – The real fun begins at Yacht Club Port de Plaisance where boaters will gather in the morning prior to the poker run for a sea and safety briefing and then will go by boat to the five stops to pick up their cards on both French and Dutch sides.
Participants return to the marina around 5:00pm for an incredible bash with live entertainment, food & beverage booths and prize giveaways! $20,000 in cash & prizes will be handed out to the winners at the event after the judges count the cards and determine the three winners.

The Presidente 2016 SXM Poker Run, to be held the weekend of August 26-28, is an invigorating game of chance where participants gather aboard high-speed boats and visit five locations (called “Stops”).
Each “Stop” offers entertainment and food & drink specials as they wait excitedly for the first boats to hit their shore and draw their card in discreetly sealed envelopes.
Every Poker Run considers safety a number one concern and, as an inaugural event with charitable ends plus “fun for all” as the main goals, the Presidente 2016 SXM Poker Run has been working diligently to ensure game-day goes without a hitch from the first all the way to the last “Stop” and beyond.
This first Presidente SXM Poker Run will connect all kinds of boaters for an enjoyable game at sea, taking itself seriously as a responsible and sportsmanly competition. It also identifies with being a generous charitable enterprise.
As any Poker Run fanatic knows, the match will serve as a showcase for impressive powerboats, and has attracted sponsors who want to benefit from the exposure (bringing all to a full circle, as sponsors make these merry occasions possible). In a nutshell, the Presidente SMX Poker Run board wishes to recognize the generosity of participating sponsors and intends to pay it forward, with a portion of the proceeds going to Nature Foundation St. Maarten, a non-profit organization working to promote conservation of St. Maarten’s environment, including the beauty of the St. Maarten Marine Park, working to protect the coral reefs, marine turtles, seagrass beds and all water and ocean life in the area.
The Foundation also assists the Island Government in all issues related to environmental management and nautical preservation.
