Teen Turn Up at Club 747

Every generation has its version of musical child prodigies. In the 90s, musical artists like Kris Kross wanted us to Jump. Then the early 2000s birthed artists like Lil’ Romeo and Lil’ Bow Wow. Now in 2017, St. Maarten has found its answer to teen musicians and his name is Lamar Strappy Chang. Creating music as part of the Chang Gang since he was old enough to speak, he is part of a legacy of musical talent that has been nurtured by his father – local artist Ziggy Chang.

Strappy has a new hit song with his father – Summer Time has been burning up the airways of local stations. The premise of the song is basically he trying to convince his father to let him go out and have fun because it’s summer time. You can’t listen to Summer Time and not smile; it’s the perfect theme song for a teen’s summer vacation. Summer Time even made it to the number two position in the local Top 20 countdown on DJ Biggers’ radio show.

As part of a special birthday celebration, Strappy’s hosting a teen-only birthday party at Club 747 on Saturday, June 10. It’s not just a regular party, because he will be shooting the visuals for his hit song Summer Time. There will be special performances by other local acts: crowd favourite DJ King Kembe, DJ Siwroo, Sensi Z and, of course, the birthday boy himself! Expect free snacks and great giveaways, courtesy of TelCell, KFC, Intertoys and much more! Don’t you just love parties where they give you things?

Remember to bring your ID. NO ALCOHOL is permitted. The High Up family is committed to keeping their teen events safe and fun for the youth. What time? Because it’s a teen party, it will run from 5:00 to 9:00pm. Admission is only $3!

The party is for ages 13 to 17 only; so if you’re thinking of coming and you’re not in that age group, sorry! This is strictly for the youth. If the party is a success, the Chang Gang may just make this a recurring event!
