Through Cam's Lens: The Rona!

Through Cam's Lens: The Rona!

“The rainstorm and the river are my brothers

The heron and the otter are my friends

And we are all connected to each other

In a circle, in a hoop that never ends”

Have you ever felt as though something was happening to the masses directly because of you? Like, for example, it’s raining over the whole island because you needed to be delayed 10 minutes. If you had left home on time, it would’ve created a slippery slope of events that would’ve probably ended in death – hyperbole, but you get the point, lol. Or the Rona! Imagine the whole world, apparently except Russia, dealing with the spreading of a virus just because you needed the time to be alone and do some self-growth.

 Crazy thought, huh?

By the way, can we find out what the Russians are doing? I heard it’s Vodka, and I don’t drink, but we might have to change that!

 Anyway...

So the show this weekend is postponed. The team had a really hard decision to make even before this week’s update from the Prime Minister. Damn Rona! We contacted our sponsors and the other persons who were taking part to run our decision by them, and we were all in agreement. We were so excited to put on the third edition of Vision and Voice for you guys. Everything happens for a reason, though, right? Maybe we were given the extra time to make the event even “more” better!

Why is bad grammar our thing? HA!

We’ve chosen a tentative date, so it’s going down on April 18. We don’t know how things will progress by then, but we want to stay as proactive as possible. We feel like in this time of quarantine and social distancing, people need something to look forward to. That’s why we opted to find a new date and put it out there, versus just postponing it until…

I feel like that’s also what made us a thing, though. Our first show was a few months after Irma and it gave the people something to look forward to and then something to do. It’s like we’ve connected with an audience and they can’t stop wanting more. More art!

Nothing has changed in the line-up, but who knows! Maybe some new things will even be added. Leave it up to the creatives to always continue creating. Lol.

Speaking of creatives, make sure you guys keep those juices flowing during this time, man. I might have to start doing some self-portraits or something to keep my mind pumping. I’m sure Ms. Jenny won’t mind me sprawled out on the lawn with my camera and a tripod. Lol! Can you imagine? It’s also going to be a bit tough for those of us creatives who live off our art. Keep us in mind and pray for us.

Corona! Yuh mom…
