Get ready for a whirlwind weekend of music, dance, drama and comedy. The Lion King SXM is returning for three shows this weekend at Belair Community Centre: Today, Saturday, September 14, 4:00pm Matinee; 8:00pm Gala; and tomorrow, Sunday, September 15, 4:00pm Matinee.
Come and enjoy the talents of the youth performing in elaborate costumes as the characters you know and love. Simba and Nala, Mufasa and Sarabi, Timon and Pumba, Zazu, Scar and his hyena pack – plus a lot of happy creatures from the African Savanah.
You’ll be thrilled by the vibrant singing of St. Maarten Community Choir led by Clara Reyes, and not to forget the breath-taking dancing lionesses of Imbali Dance Theatre.
There have been a few changes since the first shows in June which were well attended and received high praise. A few new faces will be on stage, but wait and see it for yourself – fresh and fantastic.
Directed by Helen Hart, The Lion King SXM is brought to you by R.F. Hart Productions. This foundation teaches kids to sing and perform, allowing children to develop their talents and passions. Please support this important cultural program by coming and joining in the fun.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for kids under 12. There are premium seats available too: VIP tables for the Gala show are $100, and front row seats are $50 (rows 1&2).
Tickets are available at Van Dorp, from cast members, and at the door if supplies last. Call Helen Hart at 556-4684 for more information.
