This past Thursday, special guests were invited to Esurance's 5th Anniversary at their Yacht Club/Plaza Del Lago, Simpson Bay location. Dressed up in business casual attire, guests got to network and celebrate in style! Everyone enjoyed delicious catering by MixItalia, and La Voile Blanche, while having great conversation and sipping good Champagne.

What is Esurance? In case you didn’t know, Esurance is an insurance broker specialised in property insurance, including hurricane coverage.

One of their other in-house specialties is claims settlement for their customers. They operate and are licensed for both the Dutch and the French side of the island, and are the fastest growing insurance brokerage island wide.

A professional broker provides necessary service that an insurance company normally doesn’t have the time for. It’s also important to advise customers to insure their belongings and for the right amounts. This is to avoid under insurance which is usually the largest downside for policy holders who don’t know how this works.

What is Esurance’s proudest achievement over the past five years? Esurance Managing Director Mano van der Camp explains, “We have established a strong team; we are licensed to work in the Dutch and the French territories. We are all round in advising, including general and life insurance, and we have almost 1,000 satisfied customers. Plus, we have a national network and international network, including a Lloyds’ partner.”

What are the future plans for Esurance? Mano says, “We have pending license requests for Anguilla, St. Kitts & Nevis.” So as you can see, they keep expanding their territory. “Our St. Martin office in Hope Estate will be open by next month; we are opening our next St. Maarten office in late 2020.”

“Esurance will also be offering free educational programmes to learn about finance and insurance; this will be geared towards students. And we will grow annually with 20%.”

Cheers to that! Five years is no easy milestone to achieve in these trying times, especially since Hurricane Irma, but Esurance stands strong in full force for all of St. Maarten to see. Congratulations on your 5th anniversary, Esurance. The Daily Herald wishes you many more years!
