A community event for all!
By Chiaira Bowers
This weekend marks a special occasion – the 10th Annual K1 Christmas Angels Program. It's the perfect opportunity for our community to come together and create lasting memories for those who need it most. The heart of the Christmas Angels Program lies in the connections we build within our community. Bring smiles to the faces of over 500 children and adults on our beloved island.
Expanding horizons for a decade
Over the past 10 years, the K1 Christmas Angels Program has evolved into a beacon of hope and generosity. What makes this year even more special is the expansion of the program to include children from vulnerable backgrounds in seven public schools across the island among the standard list of Ujima members, Sr. Basilia Center clients, Mental Health Foundation clients, Player Development Youth, children at the Dr. J Transitional Shelter and more. Our aim is always to continue reaching more hearts and making a broader impact on those who truly need the holiday cheer and spirit.
Community’s important role
Come out early to pick one or more of the over 500 Christmas Angel ornaments that were handmade with love by the program recipients consisting of children, adults and differently abled persons. You’ll receive their Christmas wish-list, and after you’ve purchased them a gift, return by Monday December 4, and you’ll get to keep your selected little angel as a gift from that person to you.
Giving back made easy
This year, convenience is at the forefront. We have expanded our locations to include Cost U Less, Carrefour Bush Road, and McDonald’s (three locations) in addition to the Government Building in Philipsburg. It's now easier than ever for you to pick an angel, select the perfect gift, and drop it off by Monday, December 4, at 6:00pm.
Locations with volunteers
December 1 @ 9:00am-6:00pm – Government Building.
December 2 @ 9:00am-6:00pm – Government Building and Cost U Less.
December 3 @ 1:00pm-6:00pm – Government Building, Cost U Less, Carrefour Bush Road.
December 4 @ 9:00am-6:00pm – Government Building.
McDonald’s (Tree with Angels only)
Angels with codes are hung up on Christmas trees inside McDonald’s Dutch Quarter, Simpson Bay and Marigot. Persons have the opportunity to pick an angel and bring back the gift at McDonald’s from now until Friday, December 8.
This weekend, let's come together, be part of history during the 10th Annual K1 Britannia Christmas Angels and create a Christmas filled with warmth and joy for all.
