Starting a small business is never easy, but Tara Parisi and her husband Nadav Bitton are banking on their ability to read a market, understand a clientele and fill a niche. “We’ve been well received by residents and tourists,” said Tara, explaining that the store is open every day from 10:00am until 10:00pm. “We love being in Maho Village. It’s quiet but people stop by all the time before or after dining out; or they come by for a gelato next door, so it’s a great location.”

Why bamboo?
