What’s Christmas for? The answer: Giving – and the joy that comes along with it! This year, thanks to K1 Britannia Foundation, you have a chance to give from the heart, get some soul-warming joy, and best of all, embrace a chance to make Christmas Day extra-special for someone in need. It’s easy; it’s fun; and it gives you a nice story to tell to your friends.
Here’s the idea: Go to Philipsburg next week Friday, Saturday or Sunday, Dec 18-20, and stop by to admire the Christmas tree at Clem Labega Square between 9:30am and 6:30pm. In the tree, you’ll notice a lot of little angel ornaments. These were each made by one of our island’s underprivileged children. On those three days, there will be some K1 Britannia volunteers at the tree. You can choose an angel and the volunteer will tell you the age and a little about the child that made it. Then you go shop for a present for that specific child and return with it wrapped up to trade for the angel. The angel comes home with you as a reminder of your good deed, and it can grace your tree for years to come, hence the nice story you get to tell your friends about where your little angel came from!
The season culminates with the Christmas Party on Dec 22 at John Larmonie Center. That’s where the kids will receive their presents that their angels brought them. The party is sponsored by Funtopia, so there is sure to be lots of vibrant entertainment and awesome games for everyone.
K1 Britannia Foundation is all about helping others. They organize a huge data base of volunteers with interests in giving of their special talents. From carpenters to tutors, from life guards to gardeners, the foundation is interested in working together year-round with anyone and everyone to lend a hand to those in need. Be an Angel to someone in need this Christmas.Happy Holidays!
