Welcome Message: Mellissa Arrindell-Doncher Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Traffic and Telecommunication

Dear visitors and cruise partners,

Welcome to St. Maarten and thank you for being part of our recovery process simply by visiting our lovely shores. It is said that the best way to help the Caribbean rebound after devastating storms is to visit the Caribbean. Needless to say, our people, merchants, tour operators, taxi drivers and many more on St. Maarten are ecstatic that you are here. Your presence instils hope and confidence that St. Maarten is on its way back and our cruise product remains vibrant.

Determined recovery work has been executed by management of Port St. Maarten in collaboration with the Government of St. Maarten and the St. Maarten Tourist Bureau. Together, we are committed to providing you, our cherished visitors, with vacation experiences that have made Port St. Maarten the number one port of choice in the Caribbean.

With some new products and services now online, we hope to welcome you back sometime soon for an even longer stay on our beautiful island paradise.

I also want to welcome Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines back to our shores and thank the line for its continued confidence in St. Maarten. Various cruise executives have been highly impressed by the progress St. Maarten has made thus far in preparing the island to welcome its first cruise tourists and has lauded us being a very resilient island and having made remarkable progress.

The past few weeks have allowed us to place the finishing touches necessary to have a cruise product that not only meets but even exceeds the guest expectations. We want the world to know that we are open for business and your presence here will help us get that message out.

Thank you again for visiting and we hope to see you soon once again.
