Residents await their turn for tests at Pathfinders Day Health event.
ZAGERSGUT--Some 100 residents took up the call of the Pioneer Pathfinders and the Philipsburg Seventh Day Adventist Church’s Health Department to get their health in check by attending the free health screening day on September 15.
The free and confidential tests, conducted in the church’s auxiliary building, were administered by 59 medical students and four doctors from the American University of the Caribbean (AUC) Medical School.
The tests offered were for cholesterol, glucose, vision, weight, HIV status, high blood pressure and consultation visit to one of the doctors.
Pathfinders started the day with a flag-raising ceremony at sunrise followed by a free breakfast for 150 people. Lunch was served later to 250 people. Pathfinders played a major role in assisting the medical students.
The day’s programme ended around 5:00pm with many residents happy with their results.
Church leaders thanked the AUC team for “a fantastic and professional job” and look forward to working with them again soon.
