Active COVID cases  in Statia down to 44

ST. EUSTATIUS--The number of active COVID-19 cases in St. Eustatius dropped to 44 on Tuesday, February 8. This is down from 51 cases on Monday.

  A total of 52 persons were tested for COVID-19 on Tuesday. Six persons tested positive.

  One elderly woman passed away on Tuesday. She succumbed to COVID-19 complications, raising the number of COVID-19 deaths in Statia to three.

  The number of hospitalisations fell to one person, who is currently seeking treatment at St. Maarten Medical Center.

  A total of 388 persons have contracted COVID-19 in Statia since the outbreak of the virus, which first emerged on the island on December 28, 2021.
