Ombudsman Nilda Arduin (centre) presented the 2017 Ombudsman Year Report to Parliament Chairwoman Sarah Wescot-Williams (left) at Parliament House on Wednesday.
The report highlights the Ombudsman’s focus on the relief, recovery and rebuilding needs of the public post-Hurricane Irma in the latter part of the year. As a result, two systemic investigations have been launched into the country’s preparedness to deal with a disaster and into the operational procedures of the Rent Committee. Wescot-Williams intends to table the report in a Parliament meeting for discussion.
