APANY 23rd Annual Awards Dinner Gala to celebrate Anguilla Day in NY June 1

NEW YORK, New York--The Anguilla Progressive Association of New York, Inc. (APANY), under the leadership of its President Carlson Connor, Senior Vice President Calvin Bartlett and Vice President Rey Allan, will host its 23rd Annual Awards Dinner Gala to celebrate “Anguilla Day” at Antun’s in Queens Village, New York, on June 1 at 8:30pm.

  Government of Anguilla officials expected to attend are Evans M. Rogers, Cardigan Connor and Public Relations Officer Mark E. Romney. 

  Based on their outstanding service and work within the Anguillian community at home and abroad, this year’s honourees are Dr. Shani Hughes, Medical Officer – Health Authority of Anguilla; Dr. Professor Delroy Louden, First President of the Anguilla Community College (retired); James Fleming, playwright, actor, director (Anguilla and St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands); and Eric Hughes, proud son of both parents from Anguilla, who were among the first wave of Anguillians who migrated to Perth Amboy, New Jersey – US federal government retiree, author and consultant.

  APANY is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation incorporated in New York State since 1996. Its mission is to significantly improve and maintain socio-economic and cultural development partnerships between Anguillians at home and throughout the diaspora, based on advocacy, activism and support for education and non-profit organisations that fund charitable “goodwill projects” on the island nation of Anguilla.
