Artist Florence Poirier-Nkpa will open an exhibition focused on “avatar as self-portrait” in the lobby of The Cliff in Cupecoy on Thursday, May 11, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
. The exhibition, hosted by NoCo Art Studio, is opened to the public. Poirier-Nkpa said of her creative process: “All my works are visually autonomous. My approach is a study. With a set of researches I show my glance on reality, on present.” She uses different techniques – photography, installation, collage, painting, and drawing. “I always keep in mind that all visible things – as invisible – make depending on the individual, cultural and social past of everybody. I try to create a kind of visual evidence to link my intentions of creation and the creation itself. My intentions can be militant, aesthetic, political, psychological, philosophic,” the artist said.
