August Monday less crowded than usual

ANGUILLA--As can be seen from the photo, there were less boats from St. Maarten visiting Anguilla and less people on the beach than in previous years. J’ouvert too saw less people participating.

A crowd was to be seen by the stage to listen to the bands and were there into the evening for performances by Destra, well known Queen of Soca, and vocalists Alves and Nadia from Trinidad.

The boat races, as usual, caused much excitement. On Monday, Satellite took first place with UFO in second place followed closely be De Tree, Real Deal and Light and Peace. In the B Class races Keivero Pride was first, Legal Right second, then Hurricane, B 52 and Stay Up. There was a good crowd on the beach at Sandy Ground to see the boats come back in.

Satellite was also a winner on Sunday with Real Deal taking second place, UFO third, Sonic and then Light and Peace. The winner in the B Class race on Sunday was Legal Right followed by Hurricane, Stay Up, Keivero Pride and Upsetter.
