CAY HILL--The Central Police Dispatch received a call of an ongoing fight on Soualiga Road early Monday morning.
Patrols were sent to the location and were informed that the persons involved in the altercation had left the scene already. Patrols were dispatched shortly after 1:00am to St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) where shots had been fired, seemingly as a result of the earlier altercation.
Witnesses gave descriptions of the assailants that led to an intense search of the surrounding areas. Persons fitting the descriptions given to police were seen in the area of L.B. Scott Road. Patrols responded and a chase ensued during which one man was apprehended. A firearm also was confiscated during the arrest.
The Detective Department is investigating this matter further.
