COLE BAY--Meredith Concincion launched her political campaign on Sunday, May 28, as a National Alliance (NA) candidate with her slogan “Willing, Able and Ready”, as she aims to obtain a seat in Parliament.
She also launched her campaign team. Concincion said in a press release that the launch event was well attended and had a range of speakers including Prime Minister and NA leader Silveria Jacobs, who welcomed Concincion to the party with open arms and some powerful words.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment and Infrastructure VROMI Egbert Jurendy Doran was extremely proud and happy to see an additional strong force added to the NA team, according to the release. NA board president Leonard Priest saw Concincion as a “willing able and ready” candidate to represent the people of St. Maarten.
Among those endorsing her candidacy were her aunt Ann “Miss Aggie” Meyers, who described her niece as someone who cares for the people and stands for the people of St. Maarten. Meyers said she is 100% behind her niece.
Pamela de Weever said she is convinced that Concincion is the right person to get the job done.
Concincion has deep roots in Cole Bay, as she is the great-granddaughter of the late Clementina Holomon-Solomon, the granddaughter of the late Mary Solomon, the daughter of Violet Lake and the niece of Ann Meyers and Ruth Patrick-Solomon.
During her speech Concincion elaborated on her core values, which include a focus on the next generation, children, youth, young adults, women, the elderly, education and community development.
Concincion is a social worker by profession. She said she is highly educated and has an extensive résumé, but remains humble and approachable. She has spent years helping troubled youth abroad and in St. Maarten.
“She is also a community leader who has done great things for her community, especially after the passing of the hurricane. She is definitely a welcome addition to the National Alliance team,” according to the press release.
