ST. EUSTATIUS--St. Eustatius Roman Catholic Parish and CT Creativity N.V. have signed a contract for the renovation of the Catholic rectory. The renovation will see the rectory restored to its original state.

The project will commence in January 2019 with scheduled completion by June. This is one of several projects the Parish wants to execute in the coming years.

The contract was signed by Ricardo “Thachie” Fortin of CTC, Catholic Parish President Maxine A.J. Spanner-Suares and St. Eustatius Parish Treasurer Valentine R. Fortin. Father Simon Wilson, Maryteresse Lijfrock, Reina Lijfrock, Zita Peters-Suares and Conrad Janysek were witnesses.

Repairs on the building were scheduled for earlier in 2018, but a survey uncovered a severe termite infestation that had already weakened major parts of the structure. The contractor was requested by the Parish to inspect the entire rectory and shortly provided pictures and videos along with a breakdown of what should be done.

On September 29, Claudwick Peterson, Russell Kemper and Albertico Silvers of the Roman Catholic Council visited St. Eustatius and met with architect/owner of CTC for a walk-through and discussion on the plans.
