Minister of Justice Cornelius de Weever appointed veteran justice official Alvin Queely to the position of Director of the Pointe Blanche prison as of March 26. The minister gave minor details about Queely’s appointment earlier this week. “The Daily Herald” requested more information about the appointment, but no response was given by the minister's cabinet up to press time. Queely attended his first official ceremony on Wednesday as a pool of prison personnel were sworn in by De Weever.
