Divi Little Bay Beach Resort reopens, plans to host Patriots Cheerleaders

LITTLE BAY--Divi Little Bay Beach Resort reopened to timeshare owners and guests on Saturday, just eight months after Hurricane Irma blew through the island. The resort plans on hosting the Patriots Cheerleaders as they shoot their annual swimsuit calendar and video productions in July.

Fresh off a handful of charity events and appearances, the Patriots Cheerleaders selected Divi Little Bay as their tropical destination to shoot their calendar and various videos July 23-30.
When they are not striking a pose for the camera, the Cheerleaders will be interacting with guests with plenty of meet-and-greet opportunities, including autographs, photos, games, activities and parties, and participating in a community outreach project in St. Maarten. The Cheerleaders will also be giving out calendars and posters to guests who booked during their stay.
“We have a variety of exciting events planned for the week the Patriots Cheerleaders are here, so our guests and the people of St. Maarten have ample opportunities to meet the lovely ladies,” said Divi Little Bay General Manager Anne-Marie Brooks. “Plus, we’re really looking forward to welcoming back our owners, members and past guests so they can see all of the wonderful upgrades we’ve made throughout the resort.”
“We’re overjoyed that Divi Little Bay has reopened and that they’re hosting the famed Patriots Cheerleaders this summer,” said Divi Resorts President and Chief Operations Officer Marco Galaverna. “Rebuilding the resort has been a labour of love for management and staff, and I know they can’t wait to welcome owners, guests, members, and now, the Patriots Cheerleaders too.”
“The Patriots Cheerleaders have become known for their annual swimsuit calendar and video productions set in tropical destinations, and this year we’re very excited to add an element of community service to the projects,” said Patriots Cheerleaders Director Tracy Sormanti.
“Since last year’s hurricane, the resort has undergone extensive reconstruction, and it’s our goal to showcase the results of both the island’s and the resort’s recovery efforts. St. Maarten is very much once again a vacation destination and the Divi Little Bay Beach Resort is the quintessential locale.”
Representing the five-time Super Bowl champion New England Patriots, the Patriots Cheerleaders entertain thousands of fans from the side-lines of Gillette Stadium, participate in goodwill missions and appearances, and have entertained at high-profile events such as Super Bowls, Pro Bowls, and international games.
The newly rebuilt resort offers units refreshed from top to bottom with all new lighting, furniture, window treatments, water-saving toilets, interior paint, shower doors, faucets, crown moulding, baseboards, 49-inch LED TVs, laptop safes, Bluetooth alarm/clock/radio, interior doors and hardware, patio doors, appliances, HVAC, in-room Wi-Fi, electrical devices and panels, solar water heaters, exterior lighting and repaired roofs.
There are updated menus at Seabreeze Restaurant, updated Seabreeze pool, newly reopened Aqua Mania water sports centre, Indulgence by the Sea Spa and on-site shop. Fort Amsterdam Cafe (formerly Bayview Cafe) has been transformed with gourmet coffee café and a new menu.
Features scheduled to reopen in the fall include a new eatery called The Shack featuring Caribbean barbeque, jerk and roti, new main pool, pure-ocean pool (formerly the Casitas Pool), which has been enlarged with a new pure-ocean pool bar, waterfalls and expansive pool seating area, new, modern look at pure-ocean Restaurant and terrace, larger deck and fresh décor at Gizmo’s Bar and Grill, updated Infinity pool, and new kids’ space and game room.
