ST. EUSTATIUS--Primary and secondary school children in St. Eustatius can participate in a drawing contest. The winning drawings will be painted on the wall at Sandy Road.

Children from the ages of four to 18 years old can make drawings in line with the competition’s theme: “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.”

Senior Child Protection Advisor of United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Dirkje de Jong said that “quite a few” children and students were notified about the competition and that the organisers are hoping that a lot of children will participate.

The closing date to enter the contest is Friday, February 2. Interested children are asked to place their full name and date of birth on the back of their drawing. The drawings can be given to their teacher. The winning drawings will be announced on CTC Radio (101.9FM) on Monday, February 5.

All children that made a drawing and their families are invited to come out and help paint the wall on February 12 and 13.

The drawing contest is a collaboration between the Public Entity of St. Eustatius, Gwendoline van Putten School, Mega D. Youth Foundation, New Challenges Foundation, Statia Pride and UNICEF.
