Expected outcome

Venezuelans residing in Aruba were able to vote at their country’s consulate during the South American nation’s presidential election on Sunday.

About a thousand persons on the island reportedly registered to do so, but no information on the local turnout or result was available. Incumbent Nicolas Maduro was declared the winner in Venezuela as expected, supposedly capturing 67 per cent of the vote with a 46 per cent turnout. The organisation of Venezuelans in Curaçao opposing the current Cuba-like socialist regime in their homeland Venex announced they don’t recognise the “fraudulent outcome” or these “illegal and unconstitutional” elections.
