The Kingdom Council of Ministers in The Hague during its Friday meeting did not take a final position on changes made to Aruba’s Financial Supervision Ordinance by the Caribbean country’s Parliament, stated Dutch State Secretary of Kingdom Relations Raymond Knops (seen here with Aruban Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes) afterwards. He said talks with Aruba on the matter would continue, but that the Netherlands does not agree with the amendments, which – according to him – Governor Alfonso Boekhoudt will not sign into law pending the current discussion.
