French side maintains curfew one more week

MARIGOT--The French side has taken a more cautious approach by maintaining its curfew from midnight to 5:00am for one more week, the Gendarmerie confirmed on Monday.

The Dutch side by contrast lifted its curfew last week Friday night.
President Daniel Gibbs has expressed his wish that there be visible patrols for security to reassure businesses.
Currently, 60 mobile patrols are operating. The 600 Gendarmes are still in St. Martin. Some will be finishing their assignments, but will be replaced by fresh reinforcements.
Twelve extra judiciary police officers are due to arrive to bolster the looting investigations. So far 120 procedures have been issued against looters.
