Garfield Pathfinders travel to Santo Domingo for Camporee

ST. EUSTATIUS--Ten members of the Garfield Pathfinders Club travelled from St. Eustatius to St. Maarten to join other Pathfinders from St. Maarten/St. Martin, Saba and Anguilla, en-route to the Dominican Republic where over 20,000 youths will be camping during the Fourth Inter-American Division Pathfinder Camporee, which will be taking place at the Mirador del Este Park in Santo Domingo, April 11-16.

Three adult chaperones are accompanying the youths: Pathfinder Director Gertrude Hook, Area Coordinator Rosabel Blake-Henry and District Pastor of the Seventh-Day Adventist Churches of Statia and Saba Virgil Sams.

The Pathfinders attending the Camporee range in age from 10 to 15 years, Blake said. The Inter-American Division includes all Caribbean islands.

Pastor Vincent David encouraged the Pathfinders to attend this event when he was on the island for the Investiture Service. He encouraged church members to assist the youths by raising funds. The members complied with the request with this trip being the fruit of their efforts.
