Gasoline, diesel fuel prices to be increased once again

PHILIPSBURG--Citing ongoing developments on the international markets during which the prices of crude oil experienced upward adjustments for unleaded gasoline and diesel fuel, the Ministry of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunication has decided to increase the maximum consumer prices at the pumps for both types of fuel as of Monday, April 30, at 6:00am.

As of Monday, the price of unleaded gasoline will go up by seven cents from the current price of NAf. 2.073 per litre to NAf. 2.141 per litre. The price of diesel fuel will be increased from NAf. 1.613 per litre to NAf. 1.665 per litre.

The price increases come at the heels of a previous adjustment on April 18, during which the maximum price for gasoline was increased from NAf. 2.025 per litre to NAf. 2.073 per litre and the price for diesel fuel from NAf. 1.062 to NAf. 1.613.

The Government of St. Maarten regulates the prices of petroleum products by imposing a maximum price at which wholesalers and retailers can sell these products.
