Good water test result

Préfète Déléguée Sylvie Feucher received on Thursday executives from water distributor SAUR who gave her an update on the issue of drinking water polluted by bromates and the new disinfectant treatment system.

The latest tests carried out by an independent laboratory at the request of SAUR indicated a reduced bromate level of 5mg/l (the regulation level for consumption is 10mg/l or below), a direct result of the new treatment system. If these results are confirmed by the laboratory tests approved by the regional health authority, the ban on city water consumption should be lifted next week.
