MARIGOT--As announced in the Territorial Council in April and conforming to the wish of President Daniel Gibbs and his majority, the Executive Council on Wednesday, May 23, voted to provide exceptional aid of 2,000 euros per room to guesthouses to help them renew or renovate their rooms to return to normal operating standards.

The Executive Council also voted unanimously on allocation of mobility aid for high school and university students following Hurricane Irma. As part of the grant of the exceptional mobility aid paid to high school and university students following Hurricane IRMA, the Collectivité asked the legal representatives to come to the Service des Affaires Scolaires (scholarships office), between May 22 and 29, 2018, to sign the agreement and the application form.
The legal representative must have a copy of his identity document. If he is represented by a third person, this person must provide a power of attorney.
In accordance with the regulation, the exceptional aid will be paid in two instalments: 70 per cent on signature of the exceptional assistance agreement in view of the decision of the Executive Council validating the granting of the assistance and on presentation of a certificate of schooling, and the balance of 30 per cent after the Collectivité has received the supporting documents.
For students: proof of attendance in class throughout the school year and/or results from end-of-year examinations (diploma, transcripts, application form, proof of repetition or deferment) are required. School reports for the second and third trimesters are required to be submitted no later than July 31, 2018.
The exceptional mobility aid paid to high school and university students following Hurricane Irma is co-financed 85 per cent by European Social Funds (ESF) and 15 per cent by the Collectivité of St. Martin.
