The Big Live Nature Quiz is soon approaching!

~Attention, teachers, registration is required!~

It’s that time again: the Kids edition of the Big Live Nature Quiz is soon approaching! It’s a fun and interactive quiz all about nature, where kids from across the Dutch Caribbean are invited to compete. Created and hosted by the Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance (DCNA), it’s sure to be a fun time for everyone where you can also learn lots of interesting facts and not to mention, there are also great prizes to be won!

It is up to teachers to put teams from their classes together and register them online. But don’t wait too long to register, because the quiz takes place on November 1!

The Kids edition of the Big Live Nature Quiz is a fun online trivia game that’s free to join for primary school students in grades 5 and 6 / groep 7 and 8. It’s a fun way to learn about our unique ecosystems and to connect both to nature and to kids across the Dutch Caribbean – Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, St. Eustatius and St. Maarten! The quiz questions will be made available in English, Dutch, Papiamentu, and Papiamento.

The theme this year is “Nature’s Locals, Newcomers, and Intruders”. The quiz will feature multiple-choice questions based on DCNA’s BioNews Kids magazine (2024 edition). No preparation is required, but reading the magazine can help!

The winning team will enjoy a sailing and snorkelling trip with their teacher, and there are snorkel sets to be won!

This initiative is a collaboration among all six Dutch Caribbean islands and DCNA’s conservation partners: Aruba Conservation Foundation, CARMABI, STINAPA, Saba Conservation Foundation, St. Eustatius National Parks Foundation (STENAPA), and the Nature Foundation Sint Maarten. This effort is also made possible, thanks to the participation of local primary schools, Dutch Caribbean TV and financial support by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature, and the Dutch National Postcode Lottery.

Teachers can register teams of one person minimum, four persons maximum; and multiple teams are allowed to sign up in each school or class. Teachers can register, receive more details and instructions, and access the online version of the third edition of BioNews Kids at https://dcnanature.org/quiz/. Teachers can also join the dry run online to test their technical settings and have all other remaining questions answered tomorrow, Thursday, October 24, between 2:00 and 3:00pm!

The quiz was previously announced in The Daily Herald and takes place on Friday, November 1, from 8:30 to 9:15am. Email your questions to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Shown in the photo above: Quiz winners of 2023!
