‘I am St. Martin Staycation’ launched at Hommage Hotel

MARIGOT--First Vice-President Valérie Damaseau launched “I am St. Martin Staycation” at Hommage Hotel (formerly Mercure Hotel) in Baie Nettle on Wednesday.

The Collectivité has financed Operation Staycation as a way to give hotels, restaurants, shops, activities and water sport operators a boost after three months of lockdown and a total absence of tourists.

The scheme offers residents of the island free vouchers of different values that can be redeemed at participating establishments. Residents get to know or rediscover the island’s tourism product and the establishments benefit from the business.

The vouchers are issued by St. Martin Tourism Office on a first-come-first-serve basis and only for bona fide residents, so it is wise not to delay to avoid disappointment. The number of vouchers available for each category is noted on the Tourism Office website.

To apply for the vouchers, go to the website

www.st-martin.org and follow the instructions, which are in French and English. You need to submit a water, electricity, or phone bill, or a rental agreement signed by the landlord with his or her ID. Fill out the application form and submit. You will receive your vouchers by email within 24 or 48 hours.

Don’t miss this opportunity to get to know your island better.
