One driver was seriously hurt after a collision with a grey SUV on Sucker Garden Road on Thursday afternoon. According to witnesses, two vehicles coming from Philipsburg were speeding when one of the drivers lost control of his vehicle and flipped over after hitting the SUV on the street. The other vehicle drove off and left the vehicle and driver in serious condition. Ambulance officials rushed to the scene and managed to get the driver out of the flipped vehicle and transport him to St. Maarten Medical Center for further treatment. A woman who was struck during the accident did not suffer any injuries. A third vehicle, belonging to an off-duty police officer, was also damaged during the accident. The Police Traffic Department is investigating the case.
