MPs to discuss handling of sexual molestation cases

 

PHILIPSBURG--Parliament meets in a public plenary session today, Thursday, with Justice Minister Cornelius de Weever to discuss in particular the handling of sexual molestation cases that have surfaced on social media. The sitting starts at 2:00pm in Parliament House.

  Other agenda points are incoming documents and regulation of tasks.

  The meeting was requested by Members of Parliament (MPs) Tamara Leonard, Franklin Meyers, Sidharth “Cookie” Bijlani (United Democrats) and Claude Peterson (St. Maarten Christian Party).

  The public session will be live on St. Maarten Cable TV Channel 115, SXM GOV radio FM 107.9, Pearl Radio FM 98.1, www.sxmparliament.org, www.pearlfmradio.sx and Facebook.com/Parliament of Sint Maarten.
