NAf. 1.3M allocated for police upgrades

PHILIPSBURG--Minister of Justice Cornelius de Weever has made NAf. 1.3 million available for much-needed upgrades for the Police Force.

The police headquarters was badly damaged during the passing of monster Hurricane Irma last year.

The minister said this week that 10 new vehicles are to be purchased, bringing the Police Force car fleet to 50 per cent, the building will be repaired and work on the police substation nearby will commence soon.

The Police Force has ordered uniforms for its officers and the offices of the Central Call Unit will also be repaired.
