The St. Maarten Police Force KPSM set up checkpoints at Osborne Kruythoff roundabout in Cole Bay, the Cay Hill roundabout on A.J.C. Brouwer Road, and at the entrances of Sarsapilla Road and Arlet Peters Road in Cay Hill on Monday. This was to enforce that persons remained in their respective shopping zones. Traffic backed up for a while in Cole Bay on Monday morning, due to the controls.
