Parliament meeting on harbour cancelled

PHILIPSBURG--Members of Parliament (MPs) will not be receiving an update on the current state of affairs at the St. Maarten Harbour Group of Companies as the meeting of the Central Committee of Parliament on this subject that was scheduled for today, has been cancelled.

Parliament said in a press release on Thursday that the meeting had been cancelled at the request of the United Democrats (US) MPs who requested the meeting. The meeting was requested by UD MPs Franklin Meyers, Theo Heyliger, Sidhart “Cookie” Bijlani, Tamara Leonard and Claret Connor.

During the meeting MPs were supposed to deliberate on the current state of affairs, including future plans/developments of St. Maarten Harbour Group of Companies.
