Police catch two home invaders

SIMPSON BAY--Two men are in police custody after committing a burglary at a home in the Beacon Hill area.

According to a police report issued late last night, an urgent call came in to the Emergency Dispatch from the ADT security company close to 7:30pm on Monday informing them of a home invasion at a home in the Beacon Hill area and that the suspects had fled the scene on foot.

Police patrols went to the scene to investigate what had taken place. While controlling the area, the patrols saw two men, A.K.P.B. (34) and J.P.T.B. (35), who fit the description of the suspects who had committed the home invasion shortly before and were in possession of a backpack. The two were searched and asked to identify themselves. The backpack was also checked and various items believed to have been stolen from the invaded home were found.

During the questioning of the suspects, they confessed to have committed the act. Both men were arrested on the spot and taken to the Philipsburg police headquarters where they are being held for further investigation. The backpack containing the stolen items was also confiscated for further investigation.
