ANGUILLA--The Royal Anguilla Police Force (RAPF) is investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident in the area of the Tacklin Laundromat on Monday, January 22, that resulted in the death of Joel Webster of Water Swamp. This is the first murder in Anguilla for the year.
Police report that about 11:30am they responded to a report of shots being fired at the laundromat on the road to Tacklin. Webster was found with gunshot wounds and was treated by Emergency Medical personnel and then transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He was later pronounced dead by a medical doctor.
As the RAPF continue their investigation into this matter they are appealing to members of the public who may have been in the area of the laundromat on the road to Tacklin, and may have witnessed this shooting incident. The Commissioner of Police and members of the RAPF are extending sympathy to the grieved family and friends of the deceased. A Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to the family.
