Police seeking witnesses in Genip Road stabbing case

PHILIPSBURG--The Detective Department continues to investigate the fatal stabbing of Derrick Wilson (27), who died after an altercation with another man on Genip Road, St. Peters, at 7:40pm Saturday, November 18, 2017.


The suspect in this case F. was arrested shortly after the incident. Investigators have spoken to several witnesses. However, they would like to have more information from persons who witnessed what took place. If anyone has information that can shed more light on this investigation they should get in contact with the police by calling 542-2222 ext. 223 or dial 911, according to police on Tuesday.
Wilson was among a group of men hanging around outside a popular supermarket on Genip Road when an argument started within the group. He and the suspect started to get physical and a knife fight followed. Wilson ended up dead and the suspect was also seriously injured.
Police arrived on the scene and the suspect surrendered himself to police while Wilson did not show any sign of life.
