POINTE BLANCHE--Port St. Maarten encourages the business community to attend the 24th Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Conference and Tradeshow in Mexico October 23- 27.
St. Maarten has to project itself again as a viable cruise destination to visit, said the Port. Four of the Port's six cruise-ship berths are ready for the return of ships.

The Port is collaborating with St. Maarten Tourist Bureau (STB), St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Rainforest Adventures to promote the destination at FCCA. Tourism and Economic Affairs Minister Mellissa Arrindell-Doncher will lead the country's delegation to the conference.
Port Management said it continues to work with cruise-line itinerary-planners as well as stakeholders to ensure that the destination is ready for the first commercial cruise ship calls at the beginning of November.
Discussions were recently held here with representatives of Royal Caribbean Lines (RCL). The delegation was very happy with the clean-up, recovery and rebuilding efforts so far, said the Port.
A Carnival Corporation PLC delegation led by President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Arnold Donald visited the country in September. They are excited about the spirit, determination and resilience of the people they have met with so far with the rebuilding of the country, said the Port.
