WEATHER:   This afternoon through Wednesday midday: Generally fair to partly cloudy and hazy, with brief showers possible.

SURFACE WINDS:  This afternoon through Wednesday midday: Easterly with a gentle to moderate breeze of 10 to 18 mph, and higher gusts possible.

 

SYNOPSIS:   A relatively drier and stable atmosphere in combination with Saharan dust will limit precipitation across the local area for the next few days. Hazy skies will be evident. As a result, persons with allergies and/or respiratory illnesses should take the necessary precautions. Moderate to rough sea conditions are expected with waves peaking up to 9 due to northerly swells invading regional waters. A small craft advisory will remain in effect for St. Maarten until tomorrow evening. Small craft operators and sea bathers are advised to exercise caution.
