WEATHER:   This afternoon through Tuesday midday: Partly cloudy with light haze and a few passing showers possible.

SURFACE WINDS:  This afternoon through Tuesday midday: East northeasterly with a gentle to moderate breeze of 09 to 18 mph.

 

SYNOPSIS:  

Moisture trailing a weak tropical wave may cause a few passing showers across the local area. Another tropical wave centered several hundred miles east of the Windward Islands is moving westward near 20 mph. This system is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms and is forecast to move through the Lesser Antilles on Tuesday.

*Formation chance through 5 days…low…10 percent.

Additionally, Saharan dust will be present in varying concentrations for the next several days. Persons with allergies and/or respiratory illnesses should take the necessary precautions.

Seas will peak at 7 feet during the next few days. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.

 

STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate        WAVES/SWELLS: 5 to 7 feet
