SYNOPSIS:
Moisture associated with outer bands that fragment off of approaching Tropical Storm Josephine could affect the local region. If any of these fragments do propagate over the local area, cloudy periods and scattered showers can be expected. Some of these showers may be heavy and can be accompanied by thunder. As a result, residents are urged to be vigilant in flood-prone areas.
Increasing seas are expected due to the passage of Tropical Storm Josephine, with waves peaking near 8 feet. Small-craft operators and sea-goers are advised to exercise caution.
STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate to rough WAVES/SWELLS: 5 to 8 feet
SPECIAL FEATURE:
At 11:oo am, the center of Tropical Storm Josephine was located about 200 miles east of St. Maarten. On the forecast track, Josephine will pass approximately 140 miles north of St. Maarten tonight.
Though Josephine does not pose a direct threat to St. Maarten, heavy showers and thunderstorms are possible due to outer bands produced by the storm.
This impact is expected during this forecast period.
As a result, residents are urged to be vigilant in flood-prone areas.
