Rio, Kalaboom, Xscape, Krave to join forces for Carnival 2020

Representatives of Rio Productions, Kalaboom Events, Xscape the Band and Krave the Band signing a joint agreement for Carnival 2020.

PHILIPSBURG--Rio Productions, Kalaboom Events, Xscape the Band and Krave the Band entered into an agreement on Friday, November 22, to join forces for Carnival 2020, under the name “Road Gods,” for the parade days on April 30, 2020, and May 1, 2020.

These four event and Carnival promoters said they came to the realisation that instead of competing against each other and actively targeting the same revellers, sponsors and suppliers, it would be more beneficial to join forces to “bring St. Maarten’s beautiful Carnival product to even higher standards.”

The promoters said for Carnival 2020 the revellers and spectators can expect “nothing less than a professionally organised unified ‘Mega Troupe’ with different themed sections, the very best local bands, special international guest performances and costumes that are designed and fabricated by the best designers in the region.

“Bringing the four big brands together under one umbrella will immediately allow us to eliminate cost inefficiencies and invest these freed-up funds in product development. We will be able to add new features and new dynamics to the Carnival parades and preparations are ongoing to open new avenues that will enhance the overall customer experience.

“Online registration and the processing of online payments is one of the features that is now being worked on. Being able to complete the registration online opens the door to Carnival participants from abroad, which is needed to further grow the Carnival parade.

“By actively working together and bundling our local talent and expertise, we will soon also be able to export our Carnival product. Our objective is that ‘Road Gods’ will make its guest appearance during large Carnival events in the region to showcase our great local talent and remind the world that St. Maarten Carnival is the sweetest,” said the leaders of the groups.
