Royal presence

Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands (left) was the guest of honour at Monday’s mini-symposium at the Council of State in The Hague on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Kingdom Charter. On her arrival, Her Royal Highness, who visited Saba and St. Eustatius last week, was met at the door by Council of State Vice-President Thom de Graaf (right).

A number of speakers, including former Governor of the Netherlands Antilles Frits Goedgedrag, talked about what the Charter means for the Kingdom and gave a perspective on the current and future relations in the Kingdom. A panel of young professionals of Dutch Caribbean descent gave their views on what the Kingdom means to them. More on the mini-symposium in Wednesday’s edition of “The Daily Herald”.
