SMMC heads to FRED 2018 to recruit eligible candidates

CAY HILL--St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) will be attending the upcoming FRED Expo at the World Trade Centre in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on June 2, in an attempt to fill critical vacancies and to represent St. Maarten. The Rotterdam recruitment exposition is the only recruitment event aimed at Dutch Caribbean nationals living in the Netherlands and the wider Belgium/Netherlands/Luxembourg Benelux area.
Representatives of 35 companies established on the Dutch Caribbean islands are expected to attend the recruitment drive. SMMC will be joined by other St. Maarten organisations such as the White and Yellow Cross Care Foundation, the Mental Health Foundation and St. Maarten Laboratory Services in an effort to showcase the need for qualified persons who can contribute as St. Maarten rebuilds.
“When we cannot fill the vacancies locally, we always try to recruit personnel that have a personal bond with St. Maarten, preferably that have lived here and went to study abroad but want to come back home,” said Hester Versleyen, who oversees SMMC’s strategic partnerships and the recruitment of medical specialists. Now more than ever, we are looking for St. Maarteners abroad that want to contribute their expertise and thus help St. Maarten build back better.”
The SMMC vacancies are listed on the FRED website at

In addition to having a booth at the event where interested candidates can come and exchange information, SMMC will be giving a company presentation delivered by its Medical Director Dr. Felix Holiday.
All interested candidates are urged to come out and attend FRED, especially the company presentation as they will have an opportunity to learn about SMMC’s continued effort to add medical specialties to its range of services and its immediate expansion plans, and to pose questions to Dr. Holiday during the question-and-answer session of the presentation.
