CAY HILL–St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) has launched a Christmas Cheer programme aimed at spreading joy and cheer among its patients, families and staff during the holiday season.
Running from Monday, December 18, through Friday, December 22, the programme will feature musical performances by local musicians who have volunteered their time and talent to uplift spirits.
The musicians set to perform include Dow’s Musical Foundation, Tribute Troupe and Friends, Chrisincia Mathew and Friends, Fire Coral, Maestro Amajan and Company, and several talented SMMC staffers, including a special performance from SMMC cardiologist Dr. Emiko Bird-Lake, IT System Administrator Cecile Griffith and radio-diagnostic technician Farida Abionie.
SMMC Medical Director Dr. Felix Holiday thanked the talented musicians for their selfless commitment to sharing the gift of music with the community. “Their generosity will undoubtedly bring comfort and joy to those who are spending the holidays in or passing through our hospital.”
The Christmas Cheer programme will encompass a variety of activities and initiatives designed to spread holiday cheer throughout the hospital, including festive decoration of public areas by SMMC’s Social Committee and volunteers from St. Maarten AIDS Foundation Youth Wing, as well as open mic sessions.
SMMC invites the public to join in for joyous carolling sessions, filling the hospital with the heart-warming melodies of Christmas.
