Tax, budget changes to Parliament plenary sitting

PHILIPSBURG--The draft National Ordinance amending the General National Ordinance Land Taxes in connection with international obligations and draft National Ordinance to amend the National Ordinance on Budget 2017 in connection with changes to the Capital Expenditures are a step closer to adoption by Parliament.

Discussion with Finance Minister Mike Ferrier on the law changes wrapped up on Thursday afternoon in the continuation of a Central Committee sitting that started on May 15, but was suspended to give the minister time to gather information about questions posed by Members of Parliament.

MPs will soon handle the law changes in a plenary sitting of Parliament. In such a sitting the law changes will be tabled for approval by government.
