Tropical Carnival launches 2018 sea-themed costumes

The Tropical Carnival Junior section.

PHILIPSBURG--In its second year, Carnival troupe Tropical Carnival has expanded this year by having children’s, pre-teen and teen sections along with an adult group set to take part in the 2018 Carnival Grand Parade in April.

Registrations for children, pre-teens and teens are now open at the mas camp located upstairs in the blue building next to Island Finance on Walter J. Nisbeth Road. Adult costumes will be available for registration starting February 24. Hodge can be contacted by telephone at 1-721-524-9049.

Interested persons can contact the troupe to sign up their children.

Close to 90 children were part of the 2017 troupe. “This year’s Carnival will be special and we hope to get more support from sponsors. We have a boys’ section and our costumes are made by the best designers in the business,” said Hodge.
