The team walked away with the grand prize of US $1,500 plus trophies. It also won best outfit and crowd favourite.

The team “Cousins Squad” was voted Most Liked Video.

Best Coach was awarded to Denver Francis, who received a five-foot trophy donated by Bid D Photo Studio.

A total of nine teams consisting of women competed. Each team was guided by a male coach. All competitors received a medal for participating. Participants displayed their mechanical aptitude for a chance to win, much to the delight of the large crowd on hand to witness the event.

Island Communication Services (ICS) Statia and Dion “Mega D” Humphreys of Mega D Youth Foundation organised the event.

ICS owner Makeba Mitchell said teams competed in what would be traditionally categorised as men’s roles. The teams had to change four vehicle tires. No power tools were allowed. The teams were warned that the bolts for the tires had to be securely fastened, otherwise they would be disqualified.

Mitchell said she had been motivated to hold the competition to bring the community together regardless of age group to break down stereotypes with regard to women in the community. A similar challenge is being planned for Father's Day.

A gift box filled with jewellery and body-care products, which was donated by Island Gems St. Maarten, went to Jacknelies Jenny.
