VROMI shuts down four garbage depots

PHILIPSBURG--Contractors are no longer to use the four "satellite" garbage depots created post-Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

The only site is now the new landfill opened beside the Little League Stadium, which is accessible from Soualiga Boulevard at the beginning of the Northern side of the dump. Directional signs will be posted to indicate the new location.

The Department of Infrastructure Management of the Ministry of Infrastructure VROMI said in a press statement that effective Wednesday, October 11, at 6:00pm the dumpsites at John Cooper/Jose Lake Ballpark parking lot, the property by Caribbean Cinema, the Government parking lot at Kim Sha beach and the open lot next to the De Weever property in Dutch Quarter are closed.

The department is clearing the four sites ahead of sanitising them to prevent any hygiene problems.
